Membership at Gateway — Defining the Relationship

Thank you for your interest in membership at Gateway. Jesus loves the church. He has committed himself to her. We hope you find this church to be a place where you can do the same!

We want you to make an informed, confident decision when deciding to formally join our church. Our membership process exists to honor the new testament vision of belonging to God’s family. We hope to clarify who we are and what it means to officially join our church. Steps 1-2 help you to understand what we believe, and the expectations, benefits, and privileges that come with official membership. Steps 3-4 help us to get to know you, to confirm your understanding of the gospel and to make you known to the rest of the church body!

We have 4 steps to becoming a member

Step 1: Watch Membership Videos
The optional workbook serves as a listening guide to take notes for your own benefit—there are 2 videos approx. 60 minutes each.

If you have questions or need clarification about the membership video content, we would love to have an informal, no commitment conversation with you.

Step 2: Fill out, sign* & turn in membership application (Statement of faith, Church Covenant, ect; App on last page)

Step 3: Conversation with Pastor/Elder

Once you turn in your application, a Pastor or Elder will reach out to you and have a short conversation about your application. If there is something that needs to be done before officially becoming a member, this will be discussed together at this point.

Step 4: Present you to the congregation

You will be officially brought up before the body of Christ and brought into the community. We will celebrate together. Congratulations! We are excited to have you.
